De geïnterviewde schetst in dit gesprek een beeld van het leven van een Nederlandse bankemployé in de jaren '50 in Indonesië.
1513.2 De geïnterviewde gaat in dit gesprek in op de nationalisatie van de NHM. De geïnterviewde beschrijft hoe de stemming na het bevel van de nationalisatie veranderde. Hij vertelt hoe het bedrijfsleven in deze periode veranderde. Het was een moeilijk afscheid.

Het Doorlopend Leefsituatie Onderzoek (DLO) - de SCP Leefsituatie Index (SLI) kent een lange historie. In 1974 heeft het CBS op verzoek van en in nauwe samenwerking met het SCP het eerste Leefsituatieonderzoek gehouden. Tot en met 1986 was dit onderzoek driejaarlijks en vanaf 1989 tot en met 1993 op doorlopende basis. Het SCP gebruikte deze onderzoeken onder andere voor berekenen van de Welzijnsindex. In genoemde onderzoeksperiode zijn de vragen waarop de Welzijnsindex was gebaseerd min of meer gelijkgebleven. Sedert 1997 echter zijn twee vrij grote veranderingen in het onderzoeksdesign opgetreden: een methodologische (SLI is nu een module in POLS) en een inhoudelijke. De vraagstellingen zijn nu drastisch aangepast aan inzichten die in de loop van de achter ons liggende periode van ruim twintig jaar verkregen zijn. De aanpassingen liggen met name op veldwerktechnisch terrein.
Dit betreft een beveiligd microbestand van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS). Beveiligde micro-bestanden zijn bestanden die zodanig bewerkt zijn dat herkenning van individuen en huishoudens uitgesloten is.

The current study is part of a larger project examining biological and environmental factors associated with antisocial behavior in youth and it is focused on the association between dissociation and psychopathology in 101 male adolescents living in residential youth care facilities (one participant did not complete the study and was excluded from the analyses). Dissociation was assessed with the Adolescent Dissociative Experiences Scale and psychopathology was assessed with the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview for Children and Adolescents (MINI-KID). Logistics regressions were performed to examine whether dissociation was related to psychopathology controlling for childhood trauma, callous-unemotional traits, and age. In 1951 ging de geïnterviewde terug naar Indonesië. De geïnterviewde vertelt over haar werk. Het bedrijf had een afstandelijke houding naar Indonesiërs wat haar niet beviel. Haar activiteiten in Nederland voor Indonesische mensen werkte later tegen haar.

This data collection, representing the fourth wave of surveys carried out by the World Values Survey (WVS) and European Values Survey (EVS) groups, covers 60 countries, with high priority given to obtaining coverage of Islamic societies and African societies, which have rarely been included in cross-national survey research. These surveys cover a broader range of variation than has before been available for analyzing the belief systems of mass publics. They provide data from representative national samples of the publics of 81 societies containing 85 percent of the world's population and covering a full range of variation, from societies with per capita incomes below 300 dollars per year, to societies with per capita incomes of more than 35,000 dollars per year, from long-established democracies to authoritarian states, and from societies with market economies to societies that are in the process of emerging from state-run economies. The surveys cover societies that were historically shaped by a wide variety of religious and cultural traditions, from Christian to Islamic to Confucian to Hindu, and from societies whose culture emphasizes social conformity and group obligations, to societies in which the main emphasis is on human emancipation and self-expression. Broad topics covered in the 1999-2002 waves were work, personal finances, the economy, politics, allocation of resources, contemporary social issues, technology and its impact on society, and traditional values. Respondents were asked whether the following acts were ever justifiable: suicide, cheating on taxes, lying, euthanasia, divorce, and abortion. Respondents were also asked about the groups and associations they belonged to, which ones they worked for voluntarily, the groups they would not want as neighbors, their general state of health, and whether they felt they had free choice and control over their lives. A wide range of items was included on the meaning and purpose of life, such as respondents' views on the value of scientific advances, the demarcation of good and evil, and religious behavior and beliefs. Respondents were also queried about their attitudes toward religion, morality, politics, sexual freedom, marriage, single parenting, child-rearing, and the importance of work, family, politics, and religion in their lives. Questions relating to work included what financial and social benefits were most important to them in a job, the pride they took in their work, if they were happy with their current position, and their views on owner/state/employee management of business. Questions pertaining to the stability of the world economy and whether respondents were happy with their financial situation were also asked. Respondents' opinions of various forms of political action, the most important aims for their countries, confidence in various civil and governmental institutions, and whether they would fight in a war for their country were also elicited. Demographic information includes family income, number of people residing in the home, size of locality, region of residence, occupation of the head of household, and the respondent's age, sex, occupation, education, religion, religiosity, political party and union membership, and left-right political self-placement.

The concept of togetherness is operationalized by two lexical categories that reflect the pronoun usage during a conversation between partners: (a) we-ness (we-words; e.g. we, ours, ourself), pronouns that refer to the couple as a collective entity and (b) separateness (you- and me-words; e.g. me, mine, you, yours), pronouns that refer to the individual partner. The above mentioned associations were tested using a laboratory-based observational study within a sample of 49 flemish heterosexual couples in long-term relationships. Couples provided questionnaire data (demographics and relationship quality) and participated in two videotaped social support interaction tasks in which both partners alternated between the role of support seeker or provider. Couples’ videotaped interactions were subsequently coded for the amount of personal pronouns spoken by both partners (i.e. we-ness/separateness). Preliminary results showed that couples’ self-reported relationship quality was positively associated with their level of we-ness, but not separateness, as expressed during their videotaped support interactions.

1272.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt over haar familieachtergrond en gaat in op de gebruiken in de Indische kring. Haar vader had een discriminerende houding naar Indonesiërs. De geïnterviewde beschrijft hoe zij en haar familie de oorlog ervoer. Ze bleef buiten het kamp. Ze vertelt wat er werd gedaan om aan eten of andere middelen te komen.
1272.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de baan die ze had tijdens de bezetting. Ze werkte voor een chinees. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij moest schuilen tijdens een aanval in de bersiap tijd. Haar leven was erg veranderd, zij was getrouwd en moeder. Haar man was in dienst. De ervaringen in Indië waren voor de geïnterviewde reden genoeg om naar Nederland te gaan. Hier moest zij wel zelf een nieuw leven opbouwen.

1572.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij opgroeide in Indië, op een onderneming te Pekalongan. In deze plaats werd hij tijdens de Japanse bezetting geïnterneerd. Later werd er naar het Kramat-kamp in Batavia verhuisd. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn kampervaringen. Tot slot gaat de geïnterviewde in op de bevrijding en de bersiap.
1572.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de hereniging van het gezien met zijn vader. Hierna wordt er een aantal keer verhuisd. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn schooltijd en hoe op een dag Indonesisch plotseling als voertaal op school wordt ingevoerd. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de periode begin jaren '50 waarin velen over hun toekomst moeten besluiten. In 1954 vertrekt de geïnterviewde naar Nederland.
1572.3 De geïnterviewde treed in 1955 in dienst bij de Koninklijke Marine. Als kanonnier ging hij op de Karel Doorman naar Nieuw-Guinea. Later vaart hij op de Piet Heyn. De geinterviewde schetst een beeld van de situatie in Nieuw-Guinea, de verschillende werkzaamheden die gedaan worden en gaat in op de opkomende spanning bij het varen in verband met mogelijke infiltranten. In 1960 vertrekt hij weer naar Nederland.

Ik kom uit een gezin met tien kinderen. Ik ben nummer vier, de eerste jongen. En ik ben geboren in het dorp Visserszorg, op zijn Javaans Pitoksor, dat is tussen Leliëndaal en Sorgvliet. Daar hadden wij niet bepaald een comfortabel leven. Mijn ouders waren plantagearbeiders, maar ook in hun vrije tijd deden zij aan landbouw. Wij plantten rijst en groenten bij de trenzen. Vis moesten wij zelf gaan vangen om van tijd tot tijd een beetje eiwit binnen te krijgen.
Omdat het bestaan van onze ouders niet erg riant was moesten we ons ook inspannen om er bijvoorbeeld koeien op na te houden. Dat was voor de melk en een extraatje wanneer je ze ging verkopen. Als kinderen moesten wij voor het voedsel voor de koeien zorgen, wij zochten gras her en der. Daarnaast voerden wij de kippen. Dat alles deden wij om in leven te blijven.
De vloer van ons huis bestond uit klei dat door het veelvuldig betreden hard is geworden. Daar lag een kloso (gevlochten rietenmat) waar wij, als er een genduren (dankdienst) was, samen berkat (eten van een dankdienst) aten. Die filosofie van samen doen is ons eigenlijk van kleins af aan bijgebracht.
Ik heb in mijn jeugd alleen de lagere school bezocht. Gelet op de draagkracht van onze ouders waren zij niet in staat om de muloschool te betalen. Ik heb niet het voorrecht gehad om in een internaat terecht te komen, dat was meer bestemd voor EBG (Evangelische Broeder Gemeente)- en katholiek-georienteerde mensen. Dus zodoende ben ik op een vrij jeugdige leeftijd van school gegaan.
Als ik op de plantage zou blijven, zou ik in de voetsporen van mijn vader als plantagearbeider en landbouwer treden. Op vijftienjarige leeftijd ben ik naar Paramaribo gevlucht om van alles en nog wat te doen. Ik heb gewerkt als monteur, winkelschoonmaker, winkelbediende, magazijnschouwer, loopjongen. Kortom, ik heb eigenlijk van alles en nog wat gedaan. Uiteindelijk kwam ik in juni 1963 terecht bij Suralco en daar heb ik toen binnen zes maanden mijn reisgeld bij elkaar gespaard om in januari naar Nederland te gaan. Dat was op 26 januari 1964.
In Nederland aangekomen werd ik door iemand opgevangen voor pakweg twee weken en daarna werd ik losgelaten. En daar zit je dan: hartje winter in Nederland en geen familie. Ik had natuurlijk heimwee. Ten eerste miste ik mijn familie en ten tweede had ik geen behoorlijke baan. Ik kon net leven van wat ik verdiende.
Toen heb ik cursussen gevolgd en in september begon ik aan de avondmuloschool. Na de mulo ging ik naar het gymnasium. Het was eigenlijk mijn bedoeling om na de mulo naar Deventer te gaan om te kijken of ik naar de Tropische Landbouw Hogeschool kon gaan en om daarna naar Suriname terug te gaan. Maar omdat ik geen beurs kon krijgen ben ik toen naar gymnasium gegaan. Toen ben ik commerciele bedrijfseconomie gaan doen op HBO-niveau met de bedoeling daarna MO te gaan doen. Dat heb ik ook gedaan.
Ik ben daarna werkzaam geweest bij IBM als schrijfmachinemonteur. Binnen het bedrijf ben ik geleidelijk vooruit gegaan van schrijfmachinemonteur naar final tester. Alle schrijfmachines die aan de lijn klaar waren moest ik testen of ze goed functioneerden. En toen ben ik richting administratie gegaan: magazijnadministratie en toen orderadministratie. Van daar uit heb ik promotie gemaakt tot districtsassistent, districtbranchemanager. Toen ik bij IBM werkte heb ik ook verschillende bedrijfsopleidingen gevolgd.
In 1976 hebben mijn vrouw en ik besloten om terug te komen naar Suriname, omdat wij behoefte hadden om weer naar huis te gaan. Nederland was voor ons eigenlijk wel prettig, ik heb heel veel geleerd, prettig gewoond en een goeie relatie opgebouwd, maar het was toch niet wat ik dacht dat het zou zijn. De eerste vijf of zes jaren van ons verblijf dacht ik 'dit is het paradijs waar ik voor altijd wil blijven'. Je kan zeggen dat ik in een identiteitscrisis terechtkwam. Ik woonde in Nederland, op papier was ik Nederlander, maar ik was een nazaat van Javaanse contractarbeiders. Maar ik wist helemaal niet zo veel van Javanen, de taal beheerste ik niet goed en ik wist weinig van de cultuur. Dus ik ben toen gaan zoeken: 'wie ben ik?' en 'wat kan ik betekenen voor de gemeenschap?'
Bij mijn terugkeer in 1976 heb ik me eerst aangesloten bij Nelom Jaycee, dat is een serviceclub. Maar later dacht ik, 'kijk, met dezelfde energie kan ik iets voor de Javaanse gemeenschap doen'. En zo heb ik me aangesloten bij de Pionier als secretaris, daarna als ondervoorzitter en zeven jaar als voorzitter. De Pioneer is een sociaal educatieve vereniging en is opgericht om kennis te bundelen om zo een bijdrage te leveren aan de ontwikkeling van de Javanen in Suriname en ook aan de ontwikkeling van Suriname.
Daarna heb ik mijn tijd en energie besteed aan sociaal werk. Zo ben ik bijvoorbeeld door VHJI aangesteld als bestuurslid nazorg gehandicapte kinderen. De bedoeling was om kinderen die van de Kennedyschool kwamen op te vangen en te helpen met het zoeken van een baan. Ook heb ik een project opgezet zodat meisjes na die opleiding op zestien- of zeventienjarige leeftijd in een atelier konden beginnen met het maken van kleren, bijvoorbeeld uniformen.
Verder heb ik ook in de raad van commissarissen gezeten van het academisch ziekenhuis. Na de ramp in Yogyakarta, waar door de aardbeving waarbij honderden, duizenden het leven hebben gelaten en waarbij zoveel huizen zijn vernietigd, heb ik samen met een paar vrienden een commissie in het leven geroepen, 'Suriname helpt Yogja'. We hebben een benefietshow in het NIS gehouden, dat heeft een bedrag opgeleverd van 32.000 Amerikaanse dollar.
Daarnaast heb ik ook veel geholpen bij de organisatie van Indofair. Ik heb bij Witte Lotus, dat is een zwemvereniging van Chinezen, jarenlang als bestuurslid gefungeerd. Verder ben ik nog actief geweest in een heleboel andere organisaties. Drie jaar geleden ben ik door de president op voordracht van de VHJI benoemd tot officier in de gele ster.
Visserszorg is een compleet Javaans dorp, dus het leven op de plantage was echt dorps en Javaans georienteerd. Ook de culturele manifestaties die nu en dan werden gehouden bij huwelijken, bij besnijdenissen en bij verschillende ceremoniele gebeurtenissen werden op typisch Javaanse wijze gedaan. En thuis spraken we uitsluitend Javaans. Wayangan, mantenan (traditioneel Javaans huwelijk), lek-lek-an (nachtwake), mitoni (zeven maanden zwangerschap), al die tradities zijn bijgebleven.
De opvoeding die ik van huis uit kreeg, was moslim, hoewel mijn ouders niet zo erg fanatiek waren. Ngaji (avond recitatie uit de Koran) deed ik totdat ik het niveau had bereikt om bij een ceremonie mee te bidden. Ik had daarvoor een examen afgelegd. En dat terwijl ik in Leliëndaal op de EBGschool (Evangelische Broeder Gemeente) zat. Hoewel ik dus niet echt een toegewijd moslim was, heb ik het moslimgeloof toch aangehouden. En op een gegeven moment ging ik in mijn tienerjaren naar de stad en daar ga je natuurlijk niet meer zo serieus aan geloof en religie denken. Dat werd alleen nog maar versterkt toen ik naar Nederland ging. Daar deed ik helemaal niks meer. Maar dat wil niet zeggen dat ik a-religieus was.
Ik heb gedurende een lange tijd op een kruispunt gestaan: wat zou ik willen? Dat is onder andere ingegeven door mijn gezinssamenstelling: mijn vrouw is katholiek. We zijn gemengd getrouwd met de belofte dat we de kinderen christelijk zouden opvoeden. De kinderen zijn katholiek gedoopt en ze gaan ook naar een katholieke kerk. Ik heb zeker vijf tot zes jaren getwijfeld over wat mijn keuze zou zijn. Ik heb me toen georienteerd op kejawen (javanisme), de islam en de EBG. Na vijf of zes jaar ben ik tot de conclusie gekomen dat als je een harmonieus gezin in huis wilt hebben, de neuzen in dezelfde richting moeten staan. Je moet een compact geheel vormen en daarom heb ik toen in het jaar 2000 een definitief besluit genomen om toe te treden tot de katholieke kerk.
De Surinaamse taal heb ik pas geleerd toen ik in de stad kwam wonen. Je kan zeggen dat het voor mij een cultuurshock was toen ik van het dorp direct naar de stad ging. Ik kwam ook in conflict met de Javaanse adat (zeden en gewoonten). Bij ons was het zo dat als je langs een ouder persoon liep je bijna hurkend moest lopen. Dan zei je 'nderek langkung' (ik vraag toestemming om langs u te lopen). En als je door een oudere aangesproken werd, mocht je niet rechtstreeks in de ogen kijken, je moest je hoofd gebogen houden. Dat respect bracht de nodige twijfels bij mij te weeg toen ik een andere levenshouding aantrof in de stad. Gaandeweg kon ik ermee leven en ging ik relativeren. Je begint ook culturele expressies van andere etnische groepen leren kennen en dat probeer je te waarderen. Maar ik blijf erbij dat onze cultuur, voor mij althans, de mooiste is en dat moet behouden blijven.

1152.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn jeugd in Indië en gaat in op de achtergrond van zijn familie. Hij vertelt over zijn opleiding tot ingenieur en beschrijft de Indonesische samenleving van de jaren 30. Hij maakte de luchtaanvallen op Soerabaja mee, hij werkte toen voor het berichtenverkeer en kon zo de Japanse aanval volgen. De geïnterviewde was toen opgenomen in een militaire noodformatie. Later besloot de geïnterviewde te evacueren en meldde zich na verre reizen over zee voor de noodopleiding voor bestuursambtenaren.
1152.2 In juni 1944 ging de geïnterviewde naar Nieuw-Guinea waar hij aspirant-controleur werd. Hij was gemilitariseerd en kreeg al snel de rang van tweede luitenant.Hij vertelt hoe het er op Biak aan toe ging. De geïnterviewde kwam steeds hogerop in zijn functie. Terug in Indië nam hij hier weer bestuurstaken op zich. Hierna vertrok hij naar Nederland voor verdere opleiding en ging uiteindelijk terug naar Nieuw-Guinea.
1152.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt hier verder over zijn werkzaamheden in Nieuw-Guinea. De geïnterviewde beschrijft hoe de dingen geregeld waren, ook in sociaal opzicht, en hoe hij hier mee om ging. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het stimuleren van verschillende producties. Ondertussen geeft hij een beeld van de missie- en zendingsorganisaties in zuid Nieuw-Guinea.

Geïnterviewde heeft een klacht ingediend bij het Meldpunt Seksueel Misbruik RKK en heeft van de Compensatiecommissie een schadevergoeding kregen voor misbruik in de op een na zwaarste categorie.

Zijn vader was een Belg die in Parijs werkte als dameskapper. Hij won vele eerste prijzen op kapconcoursen. Geïnterviewde is opgegroeid in Amsterdam, en moest op 13-jarige leeftijd bij zijn vader in de kapsalon werken op de Prinsengracht. Ze hadden veel klanten uit het Gooi. Daarna is hij gaan werken bij Michels als toneelkapper en grimeur. Hij had een oproep gekregen voor Arbeitseinsatz en dook onder, maar werd verraden en opgepakt. In het hoofdkwartier van de Sicherheidsdienst aan de Euterpestraat is hij verhoord door Hollanders, maar niet geslagen. Daarna is hij overgebracht naar de gevangenis aan de Weteringschans, hier zat hij met 6 man op een eenpersoonscel. Vervolgens ging hij op transport, eerst met de tram naar het Centraal Station, daarna per trein naar Amersfoort en in colonne lopend naar Kamp Amersfoort. Ze werden een dag in de Rozentuin gezet, kaal geschoren en kregen kampkleding aan. Eerst werd hij niet ingedeeld in een commando, maar hij moest hele dagen het kamp rondlopen. Hij had al gauw begrepen dat je niet moest opvallen in het kamp, hij is nooit bang geweest omdat hij wist dat Hitler arbeidskrachten nodig had en niets had aan dode mensen. De pakketten van het Rode Kruis waren een welkome “aanvulling” op het eten. Hij was 80 kg toen hij het kamp binnenkwam en slechts 40 kg toen hij eruit ging. Toen hij thuiskwam, herkende zijn moeder hem niet. Na een half jaar werd hij weer vrijgelaten en moest zich melden voor de Arbeitseinsatz. Dit heeft hij niet gedaan. Voor het verzet vervalste hij persoonsbewijzen.
Hij had een document verstopt achter een schilderij, maar is verraden en opgepakt. Hij werd overgebracht naar Hilversum en daarna naar Loosdrecht. Om hem een bekentenis te laten afleggen, werd hij gemarteld door brandende kaarsen op hem te laten lekken. Hij heeft geschreeuwd om dit te laten stoppen, hetgeen lukte. In Loosdrecht zou hij op transport worden gesteld naar Duitsland, maar plotseling waren de Canadezen er en was hij bevrijd. Na de bevrijding heeft Prins Bernhard hem opgezocht in Laren om hem te feliciteren met zijn bevrijding. Tijdens het interview toont hij een boek getiteld 'Ondergedoken in het concentratiekamp - Priesterleven in het P.D.A. (Polizeiliches Durchgangslager Amersfoort)' van pater Jos Govaert, voor wie hij in het kamp een portret heeft getekend.

Uiteraard zijn er ook hier de gebruikelijke jaarverslagen, notulen die worden besproken, eventuele nieuwe leden waarover wordt gestemd en kasboeken die moeten worden gecontroleerd. Bij ‘Ons Belang’ worden die echter doorspekt met grappen, persoonlijke opmerkingen en hier en daar een venijnig speldenprikje. Het feit dat er een camera op de aanwezigen, allen mannen, gericht staat, lijkt niet veel uit te maken. Soms wordt er een presentatie gegeven over een bepaald aspect waaraan ‘Ons Belang’ al dan niet aandacht aan moet schenken. Ditmaal houden twee jonge ‘Ons Belang’- leden een presentatie over een doelstelling van ‘Ons Belang': de arbeidsongeschiktheidsvereniging. Het aspect van een gezelligheidsvereniging voor ondernemers voert de boventoon en de vraag is nu of ‘Ons Belang’ meer moet doen met de oorspronkelijke doelstelling: een arbeidsongeschiktheidsverzekering. Veelvuldig wordt in de presentatie de link naar een hedendaags broodfonds gelegd. Het leidt tot discussies waarbij soms de draak wordt gestoken met het idee, maar ook regelmatig verder wordt nagedacht over hoe je dat dan in kan vullen.
Er wordt besloten tot het samenstellen van een commissie die verder nadenkt over de invulling van het oorspronkelijke verzekeringsdoel van ‘Ons Belang.’ Uiteindelijk wordt nog binnen de vergadering de commissie samengesteld.

It is representative for the adult population of the Walloon and Flemish region of Belgium.
In wave one, a geographically stratified sample of eligible voters in Flanders and Wallonia was drawn from the national registry. The total number of addresses was 4,363, spread out over 240 sampling points. No replacement addresses were used. The selected individuals were then asked to participate in a CAPI interview that would last approximately 45 minutes. The expected net sample size for wave 1 was 2,400 completed interviews. Due to the lower response rate an additional sample of 500 addresses was obtained for the most problematic sampling points. Field work on wave 1 commenced on February 21st, 2009 and ended on May 23rd, 2009. After field work for wave 1 ended, 2,331 completed interviews had been conducted out of 4,831 addresses, a response rate of 48.3 per cent (32 addresses were omitted from the gross sample as no contact information was obtained from the interviewers during the field work period; they were therefore treated as non-contacts).
Those respondents that were successfully contacted in the first wave were asked to participate in two follow up surveys conducted over the telephone (CATI interviews). Of the 2,331 successfully contacted respondents, 2,057 agreed to participate in these additional surveys. Of those 2,057 contacts, 1,845 were successfully contacted in wave 2 - a response rate of 89.6 per cent. Field work for wave 2 ran from Monday, May 25th until Saturday, June 6th 2009. For wave 3, the same set of respondents was again contacted, which resulted in 1698 completed interviews, which is a response rate of 82.1 per cent. The field work for wave 3 ran from Monday, June 22nd until Monday, August 24th.

In 1943 kon ze het kamp weer verlaten en zich bij haar ouders voegen die ondertussen op de Barneveld-lijst waren geplaatst. Op 29 september 1943 werd de hele Barneveldgroep naar Westerbork gestuurd en kwam zij voor de 2e keer in het kamp terecht, waar ze weer tewerkgesteld werd in de buitendienst. In oktober 1943 trouwde ze met de uit Duitsland afkomstige Selfried Fuchs, die ook als tuinman werkte voor de kampcommandant. Door dat huwelijk verloor zij haar Barneveld-Sperre. Ze heeft tot de bevrijding in Westerbork gezeten.
De geïnterviewde groeide op in Nederland en in Indië, te Java. Haar vader was kapitein toen de oorlog in Nederlands-Indië dreigde. Tijdens de bezetting was de vader van de geïnterviewde geïnterneerd. Zij bleef buiten het kamp, bij haar moeder. De geïnterviewde schetst tenslotte een beeld van haar opvatting van de politieke situatie in Indië, die onder andere gekleurd werd door de houding van haar vader, die bij de politionele actie vanuit Semarang betrokken was.

The European Election Study 1994 is a survey study of the electorates of the member states of the European Community. It focuses in particular on the fourth election of the European Parliament, which was conducted in June 1994. The study essentially consists of a survey conducted immediately after the European Parliament Election of June 1994. Variables of three other surveys, surrounding Eurobarometer surveys, are documented and included in addition. The first two of these (Eurobarometers 40 and 41) took place before the European elections, in October-November 1993 and April-May 1994 respectively. The third (Eurobarometer 42) was conducted in November-December 1994. While the main wave is the postelectoral survey, the other three interviews have partially overlapping contents. Some of the questions have been included in two, a few in three or all four of the interviews. Voting behaviour and vote intention in the European Election 1994 / European Election campaign / issues: salience, party competence, perceived and preferred level to solve problems / voting behaviour and vote intention in national elections / probability to vote a party / parties, unions, churches / ideological position: left-right self placement, closest political belief, value orientation / political interest, and communications / satisfaction with democracy on different levels /cognition of the European Union and its institutions / European and-or national policy fields / national and European identification / attitudes towards the European Union and its institutions / attitudes towards inhabitants of member states of the European Union / approval to and membership in particular movements / social background and personal outlook of the respondents. Tijdens Oud en Nieuw is er een bokswedstrijd als een soort vertier. Op 1 feb moet hij naar Kamp Vught omdat Kamp Amersfoort sluit. Vught is beter dan Amersfoort: krijgt pakketjes van thuis met eten. Werkt onder andere bij Philips waar hij veel eten krijgt. Na de bevrijding wordt hij leraar van groep 4-5.

Haar ouders en de jongere broers en zussen moesten de boerderij verlaten toen het land geïnundeerd werd. Zij verhuisden naar een boerderij vlakbij Utrecht waar zij ook bleven.
In de meidagen van 1940 evacueerde de geïnterviewde samen met de boer waar ze werkte, naar Noordholland. De boerderij van deze boer is toen afgebrand en hij kreeg een noodwoning. De geïnterviewde kwam terecht op de oude boerderij van haar ouders. Daar runde zij samen met haar twee oudere broers het bedrijf. Ze hadden onderduikers op de boerderij, smokkelden en haar ene broer zat bij het verzet. Door een verraad werd hij 2 ½ jaar in verschillende concentratiekampen gevangen gehouden. De geïnterviewde verbleef vier maanden in de gevangenis in Scheveningen.
In 1945 evacueerde zij vanuit Asschat naar Barneveld, haar (andere) broer evacueerde naar Voskuilen waar hij getroffen werd door een granaat en overleed.
De boerderij werd in 1945 verwoest en men richtte een schuur in als woon- en slaapkamer. De geïnterviewde beschrijft het alledaagse leven in de schuur en de wederopbouw van de nieuwe boerderij.
De geïnterviewde maakt deel uit van de ervaringsgemeenschap van boerinnen en boerendochters tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog die vertellen over het leven in noodwoningen.
Dit interview bestaat uit twee gesprekken: 1068.1 en 1068.2.
1068.1 De geïnterviewde groeide op in Indië. Haar vader werkte op een onderneming. Ze vertelt over het werk van haar vader en over de arbeiders waarmee hij werkte. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de achtergrond van haar familie, haar moeder was Nederlands. In het begin merkten ze op de onderneming weinig van de bezetting. Daarna kwam er prikkeldraad omheen en waren er wachtposten. Het gezin wilde zelf graag geïnterneerd worden, wegens alle gruwelverhalen in de omgeving. Eind 1943 werd zij tegelijk met haar ouders geïnterneerd. Na de bevrijding vluchtte de geïnterviewde naar Nederland.
1068.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt meer in detail over het werk op de onderneming en spreekt over de verhouding tussen de Nederlandse chef en de Indonesische laboranten. De geïnterviewde en haar man hadden beiden in Nederland gestudeerd en keerden terug naar Indonesië. Zij waren nauw betrokken bij de opbouw van het educatieve systeem. De geïnterviewde beschrijft de sociale verhoudingen in Indonesië en gaat in op de nieuw ontwikkelde politieke situatie. Ze vertelt over de activiteiten van haar man, die in de jaren zestig in moeilijkheden kwam. In 1969 keerde het gezin, voor hun veiligheid, terug naar Nederland.

Op Dolle Dinsdag vluchtte ze met haar ouders naar Duitsland. Na de bevrijding is ze anderhalf jaar geïnterneerd geweest. In het interneringskamp is ze slachtoffer geworden van seksuele mishandeling.
De aanleiding voor het interview is het Aletta project om levensverhalen van vrouwen vast te leggen die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog de kant van de bezetter kozen en/of geïnterneerd en/of gestraft zijn in het kader van de Bijzondere Rechtspleging.
Geïnterviewde vertelt hoe ze als jong meisje met een groep andere meisjes door Japanners (en met hen samenwerkende Indonesiërs) uit het dorp meegenomen werd om ergens buiten, ver van het dorp, verkracht te worden door verschillende mannen. Daarna wist zij, door zich listig te verstoppen, aan hun wreedheden te ontkomen. De Japanse militairen zochten regelmatig de dorpen af voor meisjes.

De eerste twee maanden bewaakte hij daar het paleis van Van Mook te Batavia. In mei leerden ze op een buitenpost bij Bogor patrouilles lopen, kampongs te bezoeken en te improviseren. Juni 1948 gingen ze verder het binnenland in, nabij Jongol. Het peloton moest een nieuwe post inrichten te Neundeut. Hier was het levensgevaarlijk. Ze kregen hulp van commando-troepen, die zonder proces enkele TNI'ers dood schoten. Daar protesteerden deze nieuwkomers eerst tegen, maar later schoten ze zelf ook een belangrijke TNI'er dood en wonnen zo het vertrouwen van de dorpshoofden. Aan het einde van het interview komt de frustratie ter sprake over dat er later zoveel geoordeeld is over de excessen in Indië, terwijl de politiek verantwoordelijken altijd buiten schot zijn gebleven.

Dit interview bestaat uit twee gesprekken: 1666.1 en 1666.2.
1666.1 De geïnterviewde verbleef in Indië van 1947 tot 1958 en was accountant ook werd hij chef van een accountantsbureau. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn werkzaamheden en gaat in op zijn werk voor importeurs. De geïnterviewde schetst een beeld van het bedrijfsleven waarop de politieke ontwikkelingen in Indië invloed hadden. Bij zijn vertrek speelde naast persoonlijke omstandigheden vooral een rol, dat alle betalende klanten uit Indonesië vertrokken.
1666.2 De geïnterviewde was betrokken bij de Gereformeerde Kerk in Indië. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn bestuurswerk voor de kerk en schetst een beeld van de ontwikkelingen op dit gebied. De Nederlandstalige kerken in Indonesië waren een aflopende zaak. Vervolgens vertelt de geïnterviewde verder over zijn werk als accountant en gaat in op de veranderingen sinds de soevereiniteitsoverdracht.

Hij verblijft onder andere in Pladjoe. De geïnterviewde vertelt tot slot hoe steeds meer Indonesiërs bij het bedrijf komen en hoe hij uiteindelijk moet vertrekken.

De geïnterviewde vertelt over de periode na de soevereiniteitsoverdracht toen zij en haar man weer in Indië woonden. Tijdens de nationalisatie werd het bedrijf aan Indonesiërs overgedragen, waarna het echtpaar naar Nederland vetrok.

Zelf heeft hij de bevrijding, die vanaf begin mei werd gevierd, uitbundig meegevierd. Hij vertelt over de voedseldroppings en over zijn school en verdere opleiding, militaire dienst en werk na de bevrijding.

Op de avond van 9 november 1944 werd er een cordon rond Rotterdam en Schiedam gelegd door het Duitse leger. Alle belangrijke bruggen en strategische punten waren afgezet, trams reden niet meer en het telefoonverkeer was geblokkeerd. Op de twee daarop volgende dagen werden ruim 52.000 Rotterdammers en Schiedammers tussen de zeventien en veertig jaar oud opgepakt en afgevoerd richting Duitsland om daar dwangarbeid te verrichten in veelal beroerde omstandigheden.
De Razzia van Rotterdam is een van de grootste klopjachten die het Duits Nationaalsocialistische regime heeft gehouden. Het verzetsblad Vrij Nederland reageerde dan ook geschokt, het schreef op 14 december 1944: ‘Vijftigduizend Nederlandse mannen laten zich als schapen wegvoeren en evenzoveel vrouwen zien toe hoe hun mannen en zoons weerloos naar Hitlers slachtbank worden geleid’.
Het project Reis van de Razzia is gebaseerd op gefilmde getuigenissen van mannen die de razzia en de daaropvolgende reis hebben meegemaakt, om een hiaat in de geschiedschrijving te vullen en om inzicht te geven in de gebeurtenissen aan de hand van het thema \"Handelingsruimte van een individu in een samenleving onder druk\".

Henk Apon was still in the fifth year of high school when he was arrested during the raid. Two of his brothers had already gone into hiding and they did not dare to risk a house search. From the Feijenoord stadium he walked with about a thousand other men towards Waddinxveen and Utrecht to eventually be put to work near Ede. There he had to dig trenches in the area that still bore all the traces of the Battle of Arnhem. Even now they were still being shot at, including them. After he was diagnosed with jaundice, he and three others were given permission to return home. On the way, the men encountered Allies who were bombing roads.
When they got home, it turned out that his father had hunger edema, one sister was married and the other two sisters had gone on a hunger march. He himself exuberantly celebrated the liberation, which was celebrated from the beginning of May. He talks about the food drops and about his school and further education, military service and work after the liberation.

Henk Apon war noch in der fünften Klasse des Gymnasiums, als er bei der Razzia festgenommen wurde. Zwei seiner Brüder waren bereits untergetaucht und wagten es nicht, eine Hausdurchsuchung zu riskieren. Vom Feijenoord-Stadion aus marschierte er mit etwa tausend anderen Männern in Richtung Waddinxveen und Utrecht, um schließlich in der Nähe von Ede eingesetzt zu werden. Dort musste er in dem Gebiet Schützengräben ausheben, in dem noch alle Spuren der Schlacht von Arnheim zu sehen waren. Auch jetzt wurde noch geschossen, auch auf sie. Nachdem bei ihm Gelbsucht diagnostiziert worden war, durften er und drei andere nach Hause zurückkehren. Unterwegs begegneten die Männer Alliierten, die Straßen bombardierten.
Als sie nach Hause zurückkehrten, stellte sich heraus, dass sein Vater an einem Hungerödem litt, eine Schwester verheiratet war und die anderen beiden Schwestern an einem Hungermarsch teilgenommen hatten. Er selbst feierte ausgelassen die Befreiung, die ab Anfang Mai gefeiert wurde. Er erzählt von den Lebensmittelabwürfen und von seiner Schul- und Weiterbildung, seinem Militärdienst und seiner Arbeit nach der Befreiung.

Students, lecturers and working field professionals (N=103) participating in co-creation projects completed the questionnaire. We validated the questionnaire using a principal component analysis. The seven extracted scales proved to be sufficiently reliable. We describe how the tool can be used in practice.

A meta-analysis was conducted that was designed to resolve this controversy. Publications that were included in previous meta-analyses were re-analysed, and a number of additional publications were located. The inclusion criteria were full factorial orthogonal manipulations of threat and efficacy, and measurement of behaviour as an outcome. Fixed and random effects models were used to compute mean effect size estimates. Meta-analysis of the six studies that satisfied the inclusion criteria clearly showed a significant interaction between threat and efficacy, such that threat only had an effect under high efficacy (d = 0.31), and efficacy only had an effect under high threat (d = 0.71). Inconsistency in results regarding the effectiveness of threatening communication can likely be attributed to flawed methodology. Proper tests of fear appeal theory yielded the theoretically hypothesised interaction effect. Threatening communication should exclusively be used when pilot studies indicate that an intervention successfully enhances efficacy.

This was an independent, academic survey, sponsored financially by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). Dr. Wouter Veenendaal is the leading researcher of this academic project.
On each island a number of addresses were selected by means of a randomly drawn sample, and between 14 September and 31 October 2015, each of these addresses was visited by a local interviewer. The residents of these addresses were interviewed by means of a paper questionnaire, which addressed the following topics: 1) the relationship between the islands and Holland, 2) local politics on the island, and 3) media consumption. Interviews were conducted in Dutch, English, Papiamentu or Spanish.
The most important reason for this research, is the fact that only very few academic and comparative opinion surveys have been carried out on the islands: the most recent comprehensive opinion survey was conducted in 1998. Because five years have now passed since the momentous constitutional reforms of 2010, it is extremely important to know the opinions of the populations of the islands about the Kingdom and about the changed relationship with the other islands and Holland. In addition, it will be interesting to draw comparisons between the different islands, and to see if any differences can be observed between the islands that in 2010 have become autonomous countries, and those that became public bodies of Holland instead.

In het kader van de Papuaisering wordt hij in 1961 uitgenodigd om naar Nederland te komen. Hij besluit om na de overname door Indonesië in Nederland te blijven. Hij acht de kans groot dat hij als telegrafist opgepakt zal worden.
De geïnterviewde maakte deel uit van de ervaringsgemeenschap van ooggetuigen van migratiegeschiedenis van Nieuw Guinea naar Nederland.
The War dummies data set provides structured data on organized armed confrontations with Dutch involvement between 1566 and 1812. The data structure and content align with two well-known datasets with modern (i.e. post 1815) conflict data: the Inter-State War Database of the Correlates of War Project and the Georeferenced Event Dataset (GED) of the Uppsala Conflict Data Program. The War dummies data are based on three volumes of the book series Militaire geschiedenis van Nederland (published under the auspices of the Dutch Institute for Military History – NIMH) that cover the early modern period. This curated collection is a rich resource for analyzing early modern (military) history, and enhances the potential for comparative studies with modern warfare datasets.

The dataset contains all raw data used for analyses in the research of Study 2 described by Walda et al. (under review). The manuscript addressed the identification of determinants of dyslexia by traditional, linear techniques as well as machine learning techniques. For a full description of the reading and spelling remediation program, and all measures see the README file. The experiment design was a longitudinal repeated measures design. During two moments of measurement tests were administered in an one-to-one assessment setting. The pretest (T1) took place prior to all interventions, and the follow-up measurements was administered after three months (T2) of reading and spelling remediation. In this document, the process of collecting data is described, followed by an overview and description of variables included in the data set.
The data set is based on an earlier version, used for analyses in the research of Walda, van Weerdenburg, Wijnants, and Bosman (2015). The earlier version of the dataset will be published and linked. In the present dataset, both variables and cases have been added. However, the present data set includes only two moments of measurement, instead of four.
The dataset includes test scores for word decoding, grapheme-phoneme identification, grapheme-phoneme discrimination, naming speed, vocabulary, nonverbal reasoning, digit recall, block recall, and word recall at T1 in children with severe dyslexia prior to a reading and spelling remediation program in a specialized reading clinic in the Netherlands. The dataset includes test scores for word decoding at T2, after three months of reading and spelling remediation.
Experiment 1 showed that compared with the control group, the metaphorical connection between morality and environmental cleanliness was enhanced in the experimental group, but the score of prosocial behavior was not significantly improved. Experiment 2 showed that compared with the control group, the metaphorical connection between morality and self-cleanliness was enhanced in the experimental group, and the score of prosocial behavior was significantly improved. In addition, we found that compared with environmental cleanliness, the self-cleanliness group had a more significant effect on the promotion of prosocial behavior. Therefore, the enhancement of the metaphorical connection between morality and environment/self cleanliness is effective, and self cleanliness can promote prosocial behavior.

1425.1 De geïnterviewde reist in 1948, als burger, voor Internatio naar Indië. Hij wist toen bijna niets van het land af. Voor zijn werk reist hij naar diverse plaatsen om producten te keuren. Vlak na de overdracht zijn er opstanden van bevolkingsgroepen tegen de Indonesische regering. De geïnterviewde schetst een beeld van de sociale contacten tussen Europeanen en Indonesiërs. Hij zelf had geen echte sociale contacten met Indonesiërs omdat hij Bahasa Indonesia spreekt.
1425.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de personeelsbezetting bij Internatio. Er werken wel Indische Nederlanders in hogere functies, maar geen Indonesiërs. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij besefte dat na de overdracht de perspectieven voor de Hollander in Indië anders waren komen te liggen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn werk, de vele verhuizingen, en vertelt over zijn sociale leven in de jaren '50.
1425.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek verder over zijn verschillende plaatsingen in Indië voor Internatio. Hij vertelt over zijn huisvesting en schetst een beeld van het leven in Indië gedurende zijn periode hier.

Transcriptions of texts are based on Bakunin's original manuscripts (or microfilms or photocopies of these) whenever these were available. De geïnterviewde reisde in 1946 haar man achterna naar Indië. Haar man was de eerste periode ambtenaar Binnenlands Bestuur. De geïnterviewde vertelt over haar aankomst in Indië en gaat in op haar ervaringen van het land en de mensen. Ze vertelt over de verschillende plaatsen waar ze gewoond heeft. De geïnterviewde en haar man vertrokken uiteindelijk naar Timor. Het werd uiteindelijk een grimmige situatie op Timor en haar man was veel weg. De geïnterviewde vertelt tot slot over het vertrek naar Nederland in 1956.
